Sunday 6th July

Despite the rain, we took two teams to Rugby Camp, Hilsea to take part in the News Soccer six competition. This is sponsored by Linvoy Primus and his Faith in Football Foundation.

Hulbert B, representing Gabon, played very well, losing 6 and winning 1. They were only outplayed a couple of times. They managed to pick up the award for best sporting behaviour.

Hulbert A, representing Somalia, won their group on goal difference after scoring 17 and conceding just 1 goal in 7 matches. They then won their semi-final easily against Isambard 2-0.

This set up a final with...Purbrook (who else???) and the game finished 0-0 and headed to penalties.

Brandon, Brad and Jack scored their penalties and Harrison saved 2 leaving Luis to take the deciding penalty which he comfortably scored.

The team were presented with their medals and trophies by Linvoy Primus.

This completes a very successful two years for our football team
