Friday 4th July

Unfortunately missing the school's 25th birthday party, 16 children headed to the Mountbatten Centre to take part in the Portsmouth Athletics Championships against 12 other schools.

Our children did well against very strong competition with our Year 3/4 boys finishing 4th in the relay and the 3/4 girls picking up a medal for finishing 3rd.

The 5/6 team faltered after dropping the baton, only managing 4th. Tamsin did well as a year 3 in the 3/4 60m sprint finishing 5th in the final. Our first girl ever to reach a sprint final!

In the 600m, Jack came 2nd in his heat and 5th overall. Brandon managed to win his heat and then the final to bring back the gold medal in the 5/6 80m sprint.

In the 5/6 boys ball throw, Brandon managed 2nd and Callum rounded off the medals with a gold in the high jump.

A total of 7 medals, matching our score for the past two years.
